"The first object of human association is the full improvement of their condition."

- Thomas Jefferson, 1825.

Mission Statement

The purpose of this site is to improve our country by informing and motivating the American people. Our Republic must be restored by reinstituting the strong values that are set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. This can only be done if a large portion of the American people recognize and then fulfill their civic duty.

"Reflection,... with information, is all which our countrymen need, to bring themselves and their affairs to rights."

- Thomas Jefferson, 1798.

Even though we are now living in the information age, the truth is more elusive than ever. Separating hard facts from clever spin is a an even more complex challenge when most of the media cannot be relied upon for fair and accurate reporting. This site will earnestly attempt to refine issues down to their most basic form and identify the underlying causes of the challenges that face this country and then present the issues as logically and concisely as possible.

America will not see meaningful change unless citizens are motivated, informed, and vigilant. Every element of this website is meant to convey these ideas and must be modified if it does not. To help achieve these goals and steer the site in the right direction, visitor's must be given a place to comment, debate, and voice diverse perpectives. Though this site is started by just one person, eventually it is meant to represent the collective view of informed citizens from across America.

"A fair and honest narrative of the bad is a voucher for the truth of the good."

- Thomas Jefferson, 1813.

None of these goals can be accomplished if the site fails fundamentally in its structure. It must demand the viewers attention and keep it by presenting information in a simple way that all Americans, regardless of background or level of education, can understand. It must remain interesting, thought provoking, and practical. And it must do all these things while never straying from the reasons why the site was originally created.

While the site works towards these goals, it must avoid the following mistakes that are all too common among well-intentioned websites:

  • Using only the facts that support a predetermined agenda.

  • Making broad generalizations.

  • Jumping to conclusions too quickly.

  • Not respecting alternative viewpoints.

  • Disrespecting any well-intentioned person, idea, or action.

  • Inciting anything other than peaceful, democratic reform.

  • Not addressing the underlying issues; identifying symptons as causes.

  • Selectively neglecting problems or aspects of problems.

  • Not investigating every topic thoroughly.

  • Having any agenda besides that of improving America.

  • Not holding personal opinions and prejudices at bay.

  • Taking sides unnecessarily.

  • Complicating issues unnecessarily or being verbose.

  • Remaining the same while the world is changing.

The Republic needs the help of concerned citizens, so above all else, we seek to fulfill Our Civic Duty by informing fellow citizens and taking appropriate action.

Bringing People Together

Most people concerned about politics are so polarized that they no longer realize that almost all Americans want nearly the same things. Politics today seems to be one never-ending debate over which party, democract or republican, is more correct or has better leaders than the other. Some never ever analyze an issue before they side with their party's position. Part of this site's mission is to allow these people to form opinions and views that are not dependent on their party affiliations.
