About the Site

This site hopes to logically and thoroughly address as many important issues as possible in the most unbiased manner possible. By doing so, it is hoped that the American people will become more informed and thus more capable and motivated to regain control of the government and reclaim the republic.

This site is inspired and guided by the wisdom and principles that enabled the creation of the greatest country in history. These principles have been disregarded in modern America, and this has resulted in numerous problems and unquantifiable injustice. This site takes the verifiable position that almost all of these problems can be resolved by returning to these certain principles outlined by the founding fathers and historical documents such as the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

Some information presented may seem surprising to those who have never before questioned the assumed authority of the government, doubted the objectivity of the modern media, or investigated our current situation in light of our country's history. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, so all information is thoroughly researched and will eventually be referenced.

Visitors are encouraged to verify the information presented and let the findings be known in the comments area at the bottom of the pages or in the discussion forum. It is unlikely that everything is presented with faultless objectivity or in he best possible way, so this site has been designed to be interactive.

Ron Paul FIRST to object to Iraq War in 1998

Yes, even during the Clinton Administration, Congressman Paul had the foresight to perceive that factions of our government were pushing for a conflict with Iraq. And not only did he see what was coming years before support for such a conflict found traction, but he spoke out loudly and forcefully on principle that it would be foolish, unconstitutional foreign policy.

The following is taken from the Congressional Record:

BOMBING IRAQ WOULD BE THE RESULT OF FLAWED FOREIGN POLICY
(House of Representatives - January 27, 1998)
Mr. PAUL. Mr. Speaker, it appears the administration is about to bomb Iraq. The stated reason is to force UN inspections of every inch of Iraqi territory to rule out the existence of any weapons of mass destruction. The President's personal problems may influence this decision, but a flawed foreign policy is behind this effort.

Why is Iraq a greater threat to U.S. security than China, North Korea, Russia or Iran? They all have weapons of mass destruction. This makes no sense.

There was a time in our history that bombing foreign countries was considered an act of war, done only with a declaration by this Congress. Today, tragically, it is done at the whim of Presidents and at the urging of congressional leaders without a vote, except maybe by the UN Security Council.

But the President is getting little support and a lot of resistance from our allies for this aggressive action.

Sadly, our policy in the Middle East has served to strengthen the hand of Hussein, unify the Islamic Fundamentalists and expose American citizens to terrorist attacks. Hussein is now anxious for the bombs to hit to further stir the hatred and blame toward America for all the approximate he has inflicted on his people.

Though the media and the left are quick to assert that this is Bush's war, it has been an issue of serious consideration before September 11th and even before Bush took office. Paul understood then and understands now that those people directing or influencing policy from behind closed doors are a threat to liberty that needs to be exposed. Paul knew his comments in the Congressional Record wouldn't have much of an impact on Clinton's policy, but he knew that if more people were aware it would be more difficult for the administration to carry out a foolish preemptive war.

It seems some candidates, particularly on the Democratic side, like to play the "I spoke out first and loudest against the War in Iraq" game, but ironically the now-Republican candidate would win that squabble hands-down. Maybe the Dems are looking at the wrong party for their candidate.

"My first wish is to see this plague of mankind, war, banished from the earth."
- George Washington

About the Random Thought

The Big Picture

The United States currently faces numerous social and economic problems that range from high energy prices to the continual erosion of our inherent liberties. Almost all of these problems stem from the neglect of the true American principles upon which this great country was founded. These principles - based on a proven philosophy of reason and liberty - have been increasingly forgotten, subverted, and trivialized for the past century to the benefit of a select few. This has enabled the just government established by the Constitution to be overshadowed by corporations that act with governmental authority but pursue interests incompatible with those of a free people. And because of a consistent lack of control over these corporations by the people, its undue authority has continually expanded and its wealth now exceeds that of the people. We have unwittingly forfeited our rights, our property, and our independence to this unjust system because of a lack of interest in and knowledge of the history and laws of our country.

With an awareness of our current situation and our country's history comes the solution to nearly every social and economic problem that we face today. This solution is simple, realistic, and proven, but most American political figures and influential organizatins fear its re-emergence into our culture as it would strip them of their undue authority. It has been purposefully forced to the back of our minds by both the government and the modern media as an archaic ideology irrelevant in today's world, but this solution is based on timeless wisdom that remains as true and applicable today as it was in 1776. The United States of America must return to the principles upon which it was founded. This site seeks to accomplish this restoration of truth and vigilance by informing citizens of our civic duty and accurately describing our situation in detail so that we will be able to change it for the better.

"Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government; whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights."

- Thomas Jefferson

Lest We Have Forgotten:

that our government is meant to be a constitutional republic not a corporate democracy.

that our government was meant to exist exclusively for the people's benefit and primarily to protect the people's inherent individual rights.

that each citizen of this country is sovereign and inherently worthy of exercising self-government.

that the wisdom of the founding fathers is timeless, their forewarnings prophetic, and their fears now reality.

what and how important our civic duty is.
